About the Program
India-Finland Joint Innovation Call is a government-backed international funding program by India’s DST/TDB and Business Finland. The program supports startups and companies building innovative technology products in sectors like AI, clean energy, EVs, smart cities, IoT, advanced digital tech, sensors and deep-tech solutions. Selected startups can receive up to ₹2.5 crore grant support for research, product development, testing and commercialization. The funding covers up to 50% of the total Indian project cost, so founders also need their own contribution or investor support. Startups also get international collaboration opportunities with Finnish companies, research organizations and global innovation ecosystem access.
Eligibility Criteria
Startup/company must be registered in India under the Companies Act as a Private Limited company. At least 51% ownership of the company should be held by Indian citizens. The startup should have a strong technology or innovation-focused product with R&D capability. Founders must have a capable team to manage and execute the project successfully. LLPs, sole proprietorships, OPCs and partnership firms are not eligible under this program.
